Wallpaper Services

I will wallpaper rooms and feature walls.  Sorry, but I don't do stairwells, ceilings or wide vinyls.

It is impossible to determine how long a job will take - much depends upon the quality, pattern, method of application and even colour of the paper.

For example, a traditional thick backing paper needs a long soak in paste before applying to the wall;  a modern paste-the-wall paper goes up very quickly but pattern complexity and manoeuvring dry paper around obstacles (sockets, windows etc) is more time consuming.

The size & complexity of the room space all impact the time.  A small area requiring a few drops on a new wall without obstacles will be a quick job.  The same paper on an old bowed wall with additional obstacles will take much longer.

The same applies to removing old paper and preparing a wall - some papers just pull away like a dream, others take hours with a steamer!

Once old paper is removed the wall needs to be prepped (fill holes, sand, paint with a sealer, lining paper), and again the work involved and the method of prep will depend upon the quality and base material of the wall underneath.   Any mould must be treated and the wall left to dry out completely before work continues.

This is why I don't quote for a job.  I have a set rate:

Bromley borough:  £25 per hour + materials (paste, wall prep treatments).

Outside Bromley -  the cost is dependent on where you are!

There may be an additional charge for hand-painted or fabric-backed papers and papers over £100 per roll.  This would be agreed before the work begins.

I am happy to visit, to see the space you want papering & discuss what needs doing.  I can also advise regarding wall prep options and paper types best suited to the environs.

PLEASE NOTE:  Wallpaper must be allowed to dry slowly.  Central heating must not be on in an area where paper is drying.
